Kollel Ner Naftali is a tax-exempt organisation described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, EIN 81-3000775, at 208 Downing Street, Lakewood, NJ 08701. This page explains what we collect when you use kollelnernaftali.org, why we collect it, and who else sees it.
The short version
- We collect what we need to process your gift, send you a receipt, and keep proper records. Nothing more.
- We never see or store your card number. Card details are entered directly into our payment processor’s secure form and never reach our servers.
- We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with anyone for their own marketing. Ever.
- We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — subject to the donation records the IRS requires us to keep.
What we collect when you make a gift
When you give through this site, our donation form records:
- Your name, email address and telephone number
- Your billing address — required by our payment processor to verify the card
- The amount, whether the gift is one-time or monthly, and whether you chose to cover the processing fee
- What you designated the gift to, and any dedication you asked us to record, including the name it is dedicated to
- Whether you asked to give anonymously
- Technical information collected automatically with the submission: your IP address, your browser type, and the page you submitted from
We use this to take the gift, issue your tax receipt, acknowledge dedications, keep the accounting records a charity is required to keep, and — if something goes wrong with the payment — to contact you about it.
How your card details are handled
Payments are processed by Crowded Technologies, Inc., which provides banking services through i3 Bank, Member FDIC. The card fields on our donation page are served directly by Crowded inside a secure embedded frame. When you type your card number, expiry and security code, that information travels from your browser to Crowded. It does not pass through, and is not stored on, this website or its servers.
What we receive back from Crowded is confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, the payment method type (for example “Card”), and a transaction reference. We store those against your donation record so we can reconcile our books and answer questions about your gift.
Crowded handles your card data under its own privacy policy and its own security obligations. Crowded may also email you its own confirmation of payment, separately from the receipt we send.
What we collect when you contact us
If you use a contact form on this site, we collect your name, email address, telephone number if you give one, and the message you send, together with the same technical information noted above. We use it to reply to you and to keep a record of the correspondence.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets cookies that are necessary for it to work — for example, to keep your place in a multi-step form, and to keep you signed in if you are a member of our staff with a login. These are not used to profile you.
We do not run advertising or social media tracking pixels on this site.
The embedded Crowded payment frame may set its own cookies as part of processing the payment and preventing fraud. Those are governed by Crowded’s privacy policy, not ours.
Email we send you
Transactional email — your tax receipt, pledge instructions and payment notices — is delivered on our behalf by Brevo (formerly Sendinblue). Brevo processes your email address in order to deliver the message, and records whether the message was opened and whether links in it were clicked. We use that only to confirm delivery and to diagnose problems, such as a receipt that failed to arrive.
Brevo adds an unsubscribe link to messages it sends. Please be aware that unsubscribing at that link may also stop future receipts and payment notices from reaching you, because they travel on the same service. If you would like to stop hearing from us but continue receiving receipts for your gifts, email us instead and we will handle it properly.
We do not add you to a mailing list simply because you gave. If we ever start a newsletter, we will ask you first.
Who we share information with
We share your information only with the service providers that make this site and its giving function work, and only to the extent each needs to do its job:
- Crowded Technologies, Inc. — payment processing and the banking account your gift is paid into
- Brevo — delivery of transactional email
- Kinsta — hosting of this website and its database
- Our accountants and auditors, and any professional advisers bound by a duty of confidentiality, where they need it to prepare or examine our accounts and filings
We may also disclose information where the law requires it — for example in response to a lawful request from a government authority, or in connection with our own tax filings.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties for their own marketing purposes, and we do not share donor lists with other organisations.
How long we keep your information
Donation records — including your name, the amount, the date and the receipt — are kept for at least seven years. Charitable contribution records support both our own filings and your ability to substantiate a deduction, and the IRS expects them to be retained.
Contact form messages are kept for as long as they are useful for handling your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, and are then deleted.
Anonymous giving
If you tick the anonymous option, we will not publish or credit your name in any donor listing, acknowledgement, or public material. We still hold your details internally: we are required to keep the record and we need to be able to issue your receipt. Anonymous means anonymous to the public, not unrecorded.
Your choices
You may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete information we no longer have a legal reason to keep
- stop contacting you, other than where we must send you a receipt or a notice about a payment
Write to office@kollelnernaftali.org and we will respond. We may need to verify who you are before we act, so that we do not disclose your information to somebody else. Where we cannot delete something — typically a donation record we are required to retain — we will tell you why.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local law. Ask us and we will honour them so far as they apply.
Children
This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
This site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to donation records is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but the single most sensitive piece of data in a donation, your card number, is never in our possession at all.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
