Ways to Give

Every gift here goes to the same place: a man’s stipend, so he can sit and learn. What differs is the route your gift takes to get there — and some routes cost you less than others.

A one-time gift

By card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or by bank transfer. You will have a tax receipt in your inbox within a minute of giving. Give now.

A monthly gift

This is the one we ask for first. Stipends are paid monthly, so a monthly gift matches the shape of the obligation it funds — a rosh kollel can commit to a man for the year on the strength of it in a way a single gift, however generous, does not allow. Become a monthly partner.

Dedicate your learning

A gift can be given le’zecher nishmas, for a refuah shleimah, in honour of a simcha, or as a zechus. Choose the dedication on the donation form and tell us the name. Dedicate a gift.

Money already set aside for tzedakah

Some of the largest gifts we receive cost the donor nothing extra. They come from money that was already committed to charity and simply had not found its way here yet. If any of these describe you, everything you need is on this page.

Does your employer match gifts?

Thousands of companies match employee donations to charity, often dollar for dollar and sometimes two to one. Most people never check. Ask your HR department, or search your company’s benefits portal for “matching gifts” — you will need our legal name, EIN and address, all listed below. It takes a few minutes and can double what your gift is worth.

Do you have a donor-advised fund?

If you hold a DAF at Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, a Jewish federation or anywhere else, the money in it can only ever go to charity — and recommending a grant to us takes about two minutes in your sponsor’s portal. Use the legal name and EIN below. If your sponsor asks for anything further, write to us and we will send it the same day.

Giving appreciated stock

Giving shares you have held for more than a year, rather than selling them first, generally avoids the capital-gains tax you would otherwise pay — so the same gift costs you less. Speak to us before you transfer anything so we can make sure it arrives correctly and is receipted properly.

Remembering the Kollel in a will

Our IRS determination confirms that Kollel Ner Naftali is qualified to receive bequests, legacies, devises, transfers and gifts that are deductible under sections 2055, 2106 and 2522 of the Internal Revenue Code. If you are writing or revising a will, your attorney will want our legal name, address and EIN — all below. Please tell us if you do; we would like to thank you properly while we can.
